Anybody with a knack for writing, an interest in Amazon and free time can become an Amazon Affiliate. If you’re one of these people, becoming an Amazon Affiliate can be one of the easiest ways to make money from home. All you need to do is follow these 10 easy steps!
Step 1: Open a free account with Amazon
Setting up a free account is a piece of cake. Amazon asks you for your name, email address and credit card information (for payment purposes) and you’re off to the races. However, if you want to earn a full-time income through Amazon’s affiliate program, you will need at least two accounts – one dedicated solely to your business – so keep that in mind before signing up. Once you set up your account, Amazon will give you its own tracking ID for future use (more on that later).
Step 2: Become Familiar With the Products You Are Promoting
Before you can become a successful Amazon affiliate, you must first become familiar with all of their products. This will help you make your decision when choosing which products you would like to promote and what product niches will be most profitable for you. Step 2: Become Familiar With the Products You Are Promoting: Before you can become a successful Amazon affiliate, you must first become familiar with all of their products. This will help you make your decision when choosing which products you would like to promote and what product niches will be most profitable for you.
Step 3: Write Sales Copy
When people read your Amazon product page, they’re looking for a way to see if it’s right for them. They want clear instructions on how to buy it and what’s in it for them. Try to use different words than you would in regular writing. Here are some examples: Discover how our users earn over $200 per month with Amazon affiliate programs! Step 4: Create Quality Graphics
Marketplaces are more than happy to welcome sellers who have great-looking listings. If you plan on selling products via Amazon, for example, you’ll need professional product images taken by a photographer; Apple requires at least five different photographs of each product. You may have to spend some money hiring a professional photographer, but it’s well worth it if you think you’ll ever sell your products elsewhere. Plus, when you start out first with third-party marketplaces like Amazon or eBay, your seller reputation is less likely to mean anything—so new sellers are much more likely to overlook any unsightly images. Step 5: Optimize Your Listings For Maximum Profits
Once you’ve written your product descriptions, it’s time to start looking at how you can maximize your profits with these listings. First, head over to eBay and type in a few keywords related to what you’re selling into their search bar. Check out some of their auction listings, and see if they have anything similar. Now write down any ways that they are beating out your listing(s). If a seller has already secured 100 positive reviews on his product page, ask yourself how you can do better than that. Write down those questions and answers so that you have some goals for yourself moving forward: Who is he offering free shipping? How could I undercut him on price? And why should I even try when I’m not established yet?
Step 6: Connect Your Account To Google Analytics
Though you don’t need a Google Analytics account to run your own affiliate website, it can be extremely useful. Google Analytics is a free web analytics tool that lets you see detailed statistics about how visitors are interacting with your website. This data can help you decide what content needs improvement and which pages aren’t resonating with your audience. You will also want Google Analytics if you run any AdWords campaigns, which are used for advertising on other websites.
Step 7: Join Facebook Groups
With 2 billion active monthly users, Facebook is still going strong and is a great place to network. Join any groups about affiliate marketing or social media. Don’t forget that you can also create your own Facebook group for free! See our guide on how to start a Facebook Group.
Step 8: Participate in Giveaways and Contests
This is one of my favorite ways to drive free traffic, and that's because I love entering giveaways! However, I'm not going to just enter every giveaway that comes along. Instead, I'll typically choose one or two each week and dedicate some time in order to increase my chances of winning. There are a number of different sites where you can find good giveaways such as: The giveaway subreddit (r/giveaways) – This subreddit lists a number of different contests every day. Freebie sites – There are dozens of sites where companies will give away products for free. For example, MyChelle and KraveBeauty offer samples all over the world. The SweetFree sample site has over 590 samples available in New Zealand alone!
Step 9: Advertise on Other Websites That Target the Same Audience As You (Optional)
This is optional, but many Amazon affiliates advertise on other websites, especially because Amazon itself doesn’t allow most affiliates to use their images for link advertisements. It’s a good way to reach potential customers who are already online and may be considering making a purchase. For example, if you sell sports products, create ads that show in search results when someone searches for baseball bats or soccer balls. Or if you market pet products, your ad might show up on Google when someone searches for dog sweaters or cat food bowls. The possibilities are endless!
Step 10. Manage And Build A Successful Amazon Affiliate Business
The first nine steps have set you up with a successful Amazon affiliate business. Now, it’s time to manage and grow your venture. Keeping track of all of your affiliate links and sales, building relationships with affiliates and merchants, keeping abreast of new trends in your industry, and staying true to your brand are key components of running a successful Amazon affiliate marketing business. Depending on how much effort you want to put into growing your business, there are two main options: You can either hire a team that will take care of these tasks for you (usually through outsourcing), or develop these skills yourself so that you can handle them independently. Like I said at the beginning—it’s really up to you!
